Hecht Property Management has teamed up with PayLease Inc. to streamline our rent collection!  You can now eliminate the burden of mailing your lease payment every month!  Through PayLease, you will now be able to pay your lease payments via credit/debit card or an e-check from your checking or savings account.  You can make a one-time payment at  or sign up to have your payments automatically withdrawn each month.  It's that easy!  No more hassle and no more late payments.

How do I apply to rent a home?

We offer the convenience of applying online. You may do this by visiting our Available Rentals page and clicking on the property of interest.  A new window will open up with more detailed information for that property and will contain a link at the top to "Apply" online.  You may also print an application from our website and fax, email or deliver it to our office.  If you are not already working with an agent, one of our agents can assist you.  

There is a $45.00 fee per applicantNo application will be processed until the fee is received

Any additional occupants that are 18 years or older and will be living in the property but not on the lease must also pay the $45.00 fee and submit to a background check.  This fee is non-refundable and is not applied to rent or security deposit expenses if application is approved. Paying this fee is the last step of the application process when you apply online. 

How long will it take to process my application?

Applications can normally be processed within 24-48 hours if all information requested is provided.  We will run a credit report furnished by Equifax Credit Bureau that must show a rating of 4 or less.  We arrive at this rating by averaging the Equifax credit line ratings.  Judgments, liens, or foreclosures are rated as 10 and averaged with other consumer credit lines. If the average rating is between 4 and 5, and references from past landlords and employer are positive, a co-signer or double security deposit will be considered.  In order for a co-signer to qualify they must have unblemished credit, own property in NC, and have lived in NC for at least one year.
